Enrichments

The following activities will be provided for an additional fee for children ages 3 years and older. After-school students are encouraged to participate in these activities. Fees and activities offered are subject to change each year.

Ballet

Ballet is the art of dance requiring strength, resilience, elegance and grace all at once. The class uses music and dance to tell stories. Students will be encouraged to listen to music, learn rhythms, and move creatively. They will learn the meaning of unity, cooperation, unconditional love and submission as they work along with the instructor and other dancers. Most of all they will develop their own creative movements as they mature in the art of dance.

Basketball

In a fun, safe environment, students will focus on techniques, fitness and psychology of the game at various age levels. Students will learn about teamwork, fair play and the rules of the game while developing motor and individual skills. Lesson will focus on areas such as shooting form, dribbling and ball handling, lay-ups, passing, rebounding, defense and footwork. The students will not only learn the game of basketball, but also develop important game and life skills.

Cheerleading

This program incorporates balance, jumps and a heavy concentration on tumbling. It starts out with basic cheer techniques, such as high -V, low-V, cartwheel, walk-over, and etc. The classes will culminate with several cheer routines.

Drama/Theater

Drama is an excellent way to introduce the long-term benefits of dramatic arts participation to children. Each student will be involved in creative drama activities that develops speaking skills, builds confidence, and enhances early social skills and creative learning. All students are made to feel comfortable and are recognized so they will stretch and grow in a very positive environment. New scenes and activities are held in each class. Don’t miss the fun!

Drums

This music program features a special curriculum where students play games and participate in other interactive activities to help students internalize the foundational skills they will use as their musical abilities grow. Student have one weekly group lesson in which they use various songs to learn about rhythm, song structure, melody, and dynamics through play.

Piano

Students are taught basic music theory, basic piano fundamentals and how to handle and use the piano keyboard. Students will progress to the next level as the master each level. Class is structured to make the learning environment fun and rewarding.

Soccer

The program teaches the basic soccer principles. The focus of the soccer program is the development of the child. The program is designed to encourage and teach character, self-esteem, self-discipline, and sportsmanship individually and in a team or group setting.

Swimming

Students are transported to our local YMCA to participate in structured swim lessons. Each participant will be skill tested during the first class to determine their stage of learning. Participants are placed according to current skill level so they can advance at their own pace. The staged approach allows swimmers to accelerate through stages and become confident swimmers.

Taekwondo

Because martial arts is a full body workout, young children develop all of their muscles while improving balance and coordination. The emphasis on character development is enhanced by challenging the children to learn control over their bodies. Some of the traits that will be taught are focus, concentration, balance, coordination, self-discipline, confidence, self-esteem, and respect. These are taught through games and discussions at the end of class to further cement life lessons that the children will learn through martial arts

Tap

Classes are fun and designed to encourage confidence while introducing basic dance movement and musicality. Students will work on flexibility, self-expression, coordination and participation in group activities. They will learn dance positions, proper posture and nomenclature.

Tennis

Instructors use a fun approach to learning the fundamentals of tennis through hand-eye coordination games and drills. The instructors use exciting techniques to help your child fully enjoy the experience.

Tumbling

The tumbling program provides education, training, guidance, and assistance through athletics and movement focusing on both physical and mental well-being that will improve health, boost confidence, and bolster self-esteem. The program will also expose the students to healthy activities that will be a part of their lives forever.
